This is Christina Jensen, former Construction Project manager and . . . Ok, I can not take myself seriously when speaking in the third person, particularly while in my pajamas.

Well, I use to be a career woman, fully engaged, committed, and immersed in an industry that did not always see the full potential of a woman in charge. After giving birth to my first son, I quickly realized that managing one (now two) little boys would require me to go beyond full immersion . . . I lost myself and became just mom. For five years, that was above and beyond what I needed to feel fulfilled.

It was recently that I decided I needed more for and from myself. Somewhere along that five year road, I lost all sense of self. I lost my zeal, my umph if you will. The only place I ever felt like myself , was the gym. I’ve always found “safety” and rejuvenation in the gym. It’s always been my go to place when I was feeling anxiety, depression, or any other feeling for that matter. That led me to dig a little deeper and find what it was that made the gym my happy place. It wasn’t just the getting in shape and the after workout endorphins. It was more about seeing , through various forms, how truly amazing the human body is. I fell in love with pushing my own physical limits and building relationships with those around me also seeking comfort in the form of exercise.

This realization led me to acquire several physical certifications which ultimately led to a career as a Sport and Performance Coach as well as a Group Fitness instructor. Mission accomplished, right? I was making money doing something I loved... Wrong! Just when I started getting comfortable the little whisper in my head telling me there was still work to do grew much, much louder. I wound up putting my career on hold and enrolling in a full time Massage Therapy Program.

So, here I am, a single mom and full time student waiting to see what the Lord has in store for me next!
