Lions Club of Sakoajhora falls under Zone-II, Region-VIII and was founded on 14th December, 2011 under the initiatives taken specially by Lion Papia Banerjee, Lion Subhomoy Banerjee, and District Governor MJF Lion Binod Kumar Agarwal. It is the first club of this District to be sponsored by the District itself (i.e. Dist. 322-F) and is directly under the jurisdiction of the District Governor. The club has a membership strength of 20 at present with four to five more adds likely in the next few months. Ajanta Seva Kendra at Vill- Durganagar, Check Post, P.O. Ethelbari, Dist. Jalpaiguri, West Bengal is the proposed Service Centre of the Club and is also the venue for all Club Meets. It is dedicated by Lion Subhomoy in the fond memory of his mother Late Mrs. Ajanta Banerjee. The Club has already attended the Cabinet Installation and Annual Award Ceremony 'Muskaan' held in Jalpaiguri on 31st July, 2011 the day the Club was formally announced by the Hon. D. G. MJF Lion Binod Kr. Agarwal. The Charter Night Ceremony of this club was held on April 1, 2012.
