Lisa Cunningham

Clearwater, Florida

When Lisa was 15, she got hooked on writing at her school newspaper. Even though her dad, one of the original mad men, told her it was very competitive, she decided to do it anyway.

After spending a few years learning weekly newspaper production, LIsa landed a correspondent position at the St. Petersburg Times, now the Tampa Bay Times, Lisa had the opportunity to learn under the tutelage of Ron Brackett, who was then the city desk editor for the Tampa edition.

Then Lisa got a call from a former colleague who told her about a public relations position at USF. Lisa jumped at the chance to produce perfect publications at her alma mater.

From 1993 to 2003, LIsa wrote and edited like a fiend, getting promoted to faculty/staff newsletter editor within two years.

In 1996, her supervisor tapped her for a media relations position. She spent four years gaining the university publicity despite the challenges of the Sami Al-Arian controversy. Lisa even worked with an Austrian producer on a TV documentary about shark feeding.

By 2003, Lisa decided to start her own business, Prose to Go. She learned social media, SEO and marketing and produced stories for AP weekly newspapers, websites and alumni magazines, including Tampa Bay Illustrated. Now she writes about health care, dentistry and similar topics for Ebyline and similar websites.

Lisa is seeking new clients with a need for blog posts, social media blasts, organizing their books, finding an agent or writing an editorial or magazine article.

She knows all aspects of magazine, newspaper and book publishing and has been active on social media for about seven years.

Instead of hiring an expensive public relations firm, why not get in touch with her? She's always happy to provide free advice. For a job quote, send her an e-mail: [email protected].
