"I'll change you from a rooster to a hen with one shot!" says Dolly Parton's character in 9 to 5 movie
Do you love that movie? One of my favourites along with Baby Boom 1987 starring Diane Keaton, otherwise known as JC, Corrina, Corrina 1994 starring one of my favourite women, Whoopie Goldberg and Jennifer Lopez in the 2002 film 'Maid in Manhatten' - get the gist of me yet? Well, if you haven't I am considered to be a marginally eccentric woman who loves soppy films and will cry watching films like 'Free Willy'.
I love my animals and could not live without them, preferring their company for their loyalty and genuineness than that of humans in a personal context at times. I would love to live on a farm, or own a small-holding. I like walking, cycling (a recently renewed passion) gardening and computers!
Born in the mid 50's, I married in the early 80's and now have two 'grown up' children, 4 grandchildren, with one more on the way (September 2012) - love them all.
Professionally I trained at The London Hospital, Whitechapel, E1 back in the early 70's; I qualified as a midwife in Cornwall, early 80's working at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske; I worked 11 years as a Health Visitor in a London Borough, leaving the NHS to enter Education as a Lecturer in Child Health at Epping Forest College, Loughton, Essex.
In December 1998, I left post compulsory education to open a nursery - known as Saplings Nursery, Henham, Hertfordshire. The nursery continues to develop and were delighted to be judged by Ofsted as Outstanding status in July 2011.
I live in a rural location with chicks & chickens and a gorgeous labrador called 'Chester'. I breed pekin bantams and often have chicks or adult birds available for re-homing. Check out my YouTube channel for videos of many of my hatchings, chicks and adult birds.
