Mike Foy, Owner and Founder of Leading Edge Productions, began his official foray into video production in 2000, after acting as a Technical Coordinator for Treetop Films, during a snow kiting commercial shoot in Whistler, British Columbia. With the initial idea to create an instructional kite DVD to assist in kiteboarding lessons, Mike Foy discovered an absence in the extreme sports video realm, and embarked on several projects centered around the emerging sport of kiteboarding. After producing what are now considered classic kite films – “Small Craft Warning” and “Sick Days” - Mike Foy returned to his instructional project, taking on various other independent films, commercials, and music video ventures along the way. Currently, Leading Edge Productions offers a unique Leading Edge trainer kite package, which includes a 2-meter Leading Edge trainer kite, the “Trainer Kite Bootcamp” DVD, as well as a helpful user guide along with the “My Session – Volume 1” instructional DVD. Within the next year, “My Session – Volume 2” will become available as well. This DVD will provide kiteboarders with more in-depth instruction regarding intermediate and advanced riding styles. Such techniques include tips to elevate the viewers overall riding, turning around and jumping skills while showing how to get great “pop” with or without straps, on all kinds of boards including twintips, skimboards and surfboards. Mike Foy will also start production on “Boardshorts” as the next big project for Leading Edge Productions. Furthermore, Mr. Foy will continue to work on various other projects including commercials, videos, films, and documentaries related and unrelated to the sport of Kiteboarding.
