Here's a little bit about myself:

I am a recent graduate of the Brock University teachers college program as a Junior/ Intermediate teacher. In this past year, I have worked at several private schools in the GTA area, and have tutored in the Vaughan area as well. What I try to instill in my students is not necessarily knowing the content, but rather understanding and learning how to communicate their thoughts. I am currently trying to learn basic computer programming so that I can incorporate this into a 21st century design of learning.

Teaching in the Greater Toronto has brought to my attention the need for understanding ELL learners, which is why I am so excited to learn in this course. Over this past year I have worked in schools that consist of many immigrant families. What I have noticed is that many of the students struggle in understanding traditional instructional strategies and therefore require other approaches. I really hope to get the most out of this course and learn some modern approaches in dealing with or equipping our ELL learners to ensure their success.
