Leah Early

"After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music." -Aldous Huxley

My name is Leah Early and I come from a small town called Cave Spring, Georgia. I have a great supportive family, I have always been active in sports, I am fascinated by crazy injuries, but most of all I love music almost more than life. Music has been a huge part of my life from since I can remember. When I was little I was always singing and dancing everywhere I went. I may have made up all the lyrics and been off count by a few beats, but I was always having fun. My dad has had a drum set all my life and I used to love to throw a song at him and see if he could play it. He always could. Around second grade I began taking piano lessons. My grandmother has played the piano all her life, so I had always listened to her growing up as well. I was a prodigy from the start (but really). I caught on to the rhythms and movements extremely quick for as young as I was and stuck to it for about three years then quit because I thought it was “uncool.” I definitely regret this decision now. Even though I quit playing I still listened to music every day and loved to hear new things. My junior year of high school I got the opportunity to take guitar class. I was so excited to get back into playing an instrument, especially since I had not tried this one before. Again, I picked up on the notes and chords fairly quickly and learned a good amount of songs in just five months. To this day I still play every now and then and can still teach myself new songs from tabs. I also attended my first concert at nine years old and fell in love. My sister and I are always looking for upcoming concerts to go to and enjoy together. I listen to a wide variety of music, so this makes concerts even better because we never have the same experience twice. Not only do I love to express myself from music but it helps me get through the day. I love learning new songs, but more importantly, I love being the DJ on car rides with my friends!
