Spearfish, SD

Shortly after moving to the-middle-of nowhere state of Wyoming in 1991 I was introduced to the world of SNOWBOARDING. Today, with more than 10 years of riding experience, I work as a PSIA-AASI certified instructor for my local mountain-Terry Peak- in Spearfish, SD. Through teaching, I introduce people to the sport in ways that ignite a flame in each individual. Being a professional snowboarder is about DEVOTION, FORTITUDE, and CREATIVITY. Working in the industry is a logical extension of the snowboard lifestyle.

I have heard, once or twice, in the last 12 years that snowboarding shouldn't be considered a real sport. I've heard it referred to as a fad; the misfit child of the snow sports industry that will die as soon as the Generation X and Y get too old to play extreme sports. While I agree that it took a specific and "non-traditional" culture to popularize and establish snowboarding as a legitimate sport, it's popularity is not as perishable as some may think. The culture of future generations will be molded by snowboarding.

Personally, I look forward to the boom in snowboard technology and product innovation that will flood our growing markets over the next decade!
