Leah Perry

Hey guys! My name is Leah Perry and I’m a student at UGA. Last year I remembered everything being so fresh and exciting. I mean, it was my first year of college! So many new faces, so much to do, and so much to try out. I felt enabled that I could be anyone I wanted to be with almost no one knowing. Of course, it’s hard to be someone who isn’t me for the rest of my college life, so I decided to stick with who I was. Although I grew up as a normal kid, one thing about me is that I loved two things: movies and music. If I did my calculations correctly, it seems to add up to the movie about music—PITCH PERFECT! So, guess what club I joined when I got to college? An acapella group! That’s right! We had to learn the songs, the harmonies, and the choreographies. I will say in some ways that club ended up being drastically different from what I imagined. But, in other ways, maybe too similar. In Pitch Perfect, there is a group leader named Aubrey. Aubrey tends to be commanding and makes everyone do the things HER way, how SHE wants it, and the songs SHE chooses. Well, it turns out this acapella group had its own Aubrey... Unfortunately, I never got to choose the music we sang, but I did get to be in the same acapella competition from Pitch Perfect called the ICCAs! (You can see where we performed in the photo). Don’t get me wrong, this club had its ups and downs, but I’m glad I got to join for the ride. I think one can say it was an aca-awesome experience! ;)
