Student and Teacher in melbourne

Hi, my name is Leah! I’m a first year student studying the Bachelor of Education at La Trobe University in Melbourne. Some of my hobbies are reading, cooking, spending time in nature and socialising with my friends and family.

Here is an overview of me, an aspiring student who is eager to enter the dynamic field of education!

From a young age, I have always held a strong passion for the importance of education. From teaching imaginary classrooms at the age of 6, to graduating high school in 2025, I have endured many ups and downs throughout my personal education journey. However, one thing that always stuck was my goal to become a primary school teacher.

As a student, I deeply valued teachers who made a true impact on not only my learning, but my development through childhood to adolescents.

You and I both have had many teachers, and know that some stick with you more than others. Whether it's the way they encouraged learning, catered to your needs or supported you in times you needed it the most, the emotional impact is hard to forget. I believe teachers do more then “just teach”, they mentor, they motivate, they coach, and most importantly they connect. My experience connecting with people both personally and academically, pushed me to pursue my love for teaching through completing tertiary studies.

My goal after graduating, is to be that one teacher students remember (in a positive way of course)!

I aim to make my classroom a rich, engaging and vibrant environment, where students are eager to learn and are equipped to recognise their capabilities as young students.

I hope to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and propel young minds to view education as a precious tool they can carry with them throughout their lifetime.

I aspire to be become a knowledgeable educator, who is able to teach a diverse array of students in an effective and meaningful way.
