Pre-service Teacher in Melbourne

Hi, my name is Leah! Welcome to my page! I’m a first-year student studying the Bachelor of Education at La Trobe University in Melbourne. Some of my hobbies include reading, cooking, spending time in nature, and socialising with my friends and family.

Here is an overview of me, an aspiring student who is eager to enter the dynamic field of education!

From a young age, I have always held a strong passion for the importance of education. From teaching imaginary classrooms at the age of six to graduating high school in 2025, I have experienced many ups and downs throughout my personal education journey. I have been the one to sit behind a desk, and now I’m learning how to teach in front of one! However, one thing that has always stayed with me is my goal of becoming a primary school teacher!

As a student, I deeply valued teachers who made a true impact not only on my learning, but also on my development from childhood through to adolescence.

You and I have both had many teachers, and we know that some stay with us more than others. Whether it is the way they encouraged learning, catered to individual needs, or supported students during difficult times, the emotional impact is hard to forget. I believe teachers do more than “just teach.” They mentor, motivate, coach, and most importantly, connect. My experiences connecting with people both personally and academically encouraged me to pursue my love for teaching through tertiary studies.

My goal after graduating is to be that one teacher students remember (in a positive way, of course)!

I aspire to become a knowledgeable educator who can teach a diverse range of students in an effective and meaningful way.

I aim to create a rich, engaging, and vibrant classroom environment where students are eager to learn and are encouraged to recognise their capabilities as young learners.

I hope to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence in young minds, encouraging students to view education as a valuable tool they can carry with them throughout their lifetime.

As George Washington Carver once said, “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom,” and I could not agree more. Education is a concept that encompasses far more than just “learning.” It means experiencing, absorbing, adapting, and growing.

With continuous changes in pedagogy and technology, I aim to prioritize digital safety and educate students on the ethical consumption of content and the importance of privacy on digital platforms.

As a young pre-service teacher, I look forward to entering the ever-changing world of education!

Hope this helped you learn a bit about me. 😊
