Leanna L. Pearson, soprano, is a graduate of New York University with a Masters of Music in Classical Voice & Opera and an Advanced Certification in Vocal Pedagogy at New York University. Ms. Pearson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Spelman College in Atlanta.
Recently, Ms. Pearson was a Semi-Finalist with the Classical Singer Magazine Competition and awarded a Project Canción Española Full Tuition Scholarship to attended an "International Course: Interpretation of Spanish Vocal Music" in July 2012. She is also a 2012 New York Lyric Opera Theater Competition Semi-Finalist and NY NAACP ACT – SO Competition in Classical Voice Silver Medalist and scholarship recipient.
Roles Ms. Pearson has performed include: Ethiopian Chorus (Aida), Die Fledermaus (Chorus/Price Orlofsky), Die Zauberflote (Second Lady), and the title role of Suor Angelica. She has also served as a cover in Hansel and Gretel (Mother) and the title role of Massenet's Cendrillion. At the beginning of 2012, Ms. Pearson began working with International Metropolitan Opera Soprano, Martina Arroyo as a participant in her role study course developing the character of The Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro.
Ms. Pearson is creating a non-profit organization to assist children in Brooklyn, New York in going in the direction of their dreams. More details to follow.
