Leanne Prain

I write about craft, design, and culture.

I am the author of three books: Strange Material: Storytelling Through Textiles, Hoopla: The Art of Unexpected Embroidery, and Yarn Bombing: The Art of Crochet and Knit Graffiti (co-authored with Mandy Moore); all published by Arsenal Pulp Press. My writing has also been published in anthologies, lit journals, and design magazines in Canada, the US, and Australia.

I lead workshops and talks in community spaces, classrooms, and libraries, based on my experience as a designer, author, and researcher.

My favorite things include loose leaf tea, raccoons, polka dots, umbrellas, typography, paper goods, coffee shops, viral kitten videos, and city walks.
