The Learn2Story Workshops

Each of us has what it takes to create and tell good stories. When stories are well-crafted, they have the power to inspire, connect and amuse. In this interactive and informative workshop, you will learn how to craft stories for the kind of impact you want to create. You will discover that storytelling is a craft anyone can learn and develop.

The Learn2Story Introductory Workshop

This 90-minute workshop focuses on:

Knowing what gives good stories the power of their narrative structure
Learning a simple model for storyboarding any kind of story
Reshaping your stories for a variety of contexts

The Learn2Story Intensive Workshop

This 3 hour workshop focuses on:

Knowing what gives good stories the power of their narrative structure
Learning a simple model for storyboarding any kind of story
Reshaping your stories for a variety of contexts
Critiquing stories for better flow, structure and impact
Growing your story portfolio for a greater variety of stories to draw from
Interviewing others to help them tell their stories and have their stories to tell
Delivering stories with dramatic flair and engaging others in storytelling
Practicing warmup activities to get your narrative juices flowing

The workshops are based on Jack Ricchiuto's book "The Stories That Connect Us." (2009 DesigningLife Books.) Expect to take away more stories to tell, better stories to tell and new connections to other people's stories.

Cathy Smith is a trained storyteller who has performed often in Washington, D.C., including on SpeakeasyDC’s main stage. Cathy has been president of a communications company, Community-Based Communications, LLC, for nearly 15 years. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.

Jack Ricchiuto is best known across the US and globally for his experience as a writer engaged in shifting conversations in organizations and communities to new narratives. Over the past three decades, author of 14 books, Jack has worked in over two dozen industry sectors with hundreds of organizations and communities. His website is JackRicchiuto.com.
