USING THEATRE TO CHANGE LIVES
Leayne Dempsey, (M.Ed), uses her passion for theatre to transform lives. Her values for education and self-care have given her a unique skill set in the arts community. Leayne values the pursuit of the arts through higher education, and the use of theatre as an agent of change in the world.
Recently, Leayne returned from England after working on a devised theatre piece entitled, "Our Neverland," at the Georgian Theatre Royal. The piece highlighted the challenges of growing up.
Leayne's work with the arts also expands into the mental health profession. She is a graduate intern at the Wendt Center for Loss and Healing, and is working on her masters in mental health counseling with a specialization in expressive arts therapy with Lesley University.
She is a member of the creative team for the non-profit organization,"The Ruby Project," and leads the arts therapy sessions during their annual Ruby Retreat.
She is also a co-founder and the current President of the Maryland Theatre Education Association.
Available for curriculum development, college audition acting sessions, drama therapy workshops, and speaking engagements.
