Lee Haywood is a conduit of pos while still a young man at 27, his ambition and moral integrity has given him a varied experience both in his professional life and volunteering spirit, and has been advocating and pushing for positive changes in his community.

Born in San Francisco California. Lee experienced a litany of lifestyle changes that influence him today. After being adopted very young Lee spent different stages of his life between the gold coast of California and the humble blue-collar lives of Hoosiers in the State of Indiana. These perspectives on what is necessary to achieve the American dream, was the spark that motivated Lee to fight for a fair redistribution of social, financial, and environmental equity in Los Angeles where he resides.

Lee currently serves as Alumni Board Chair for Year Up Los Angeles, a workforcedevelopment nonprofit which assists young people in training and placement intocorporate careers and has assisted nearly 1000 young people in Los Angeles into well-paying careers.

His advocacy of environmental justice extends not only to keeping big oil and gas interests regulated and accountable but also to the expansion of our natural environment. Bolstering our Los Angeles waterways, improvement upon rainwater capture and retention policy, and other ideas relating to water that can decrease Californias dependence on outside sources.

Lee also wants to see the planting of significant numbers of trees on available public land in Los Angeles to help clean the air and absorb CO2 to combat climate change. With a combination of open oil and gas wells from past economic booms being mishandled and abandoned and large industry contributing to the lingering smog that blankets Los Angeles leadership must do all that they can to ensure the 10 million residents in Los Angeles have clean breathable air to reduce the levels of respiratory disease that is pervasive in the LA area.
