Lee Kucera, Ph.D., was the mathematics department chair at Capistrano Valley High School, Mission Viejo, California, where she taught AP Statistics and IB Math Studies. She has taught AP Statistics and served as a reader since the course’s inception in 1996-97. She has been a College Board consultant since 2000, presenting both weekend workshops and summer institutes throughout the United States, Canada, Saipan and Singapore. She is a member of the American Statistical Association and has had students win recognition in their student competitions.
Lee collects manipulative puzzles and belongs to an international puzzle organization. She enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach and scuba diving with her daughter, Jennifer, an SMU graduate and high school teacher. She is an active volunteer at the Assistance League in Laguna Beach, California and sings in her church choir. She also lives part-time in Asheville, North Carolina, where she is involved in similar activities.
