Leighton Buzzard Table Tennis Club
Table Tennis Community in Leighton Buzzard
Leighton Buzzard Table Tennis is called St Christopher Table Tennis Club. It is a welcoming, friendly and competitive sports club. We are affiliated as an Associate Club with Table Tennis England. Years ago, Leighton Buzzard had its own table tennis league, however, that league was disbanded, and now our members compete mostly in either the Luton, Hemel Hempstead, Aylesbury or Milton Keynes Leagues. We have our teams' practice on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
On Friday evenings (7pm-10:30pm), we have our social practice sessions which are open for people who would like to join our Leighton Buzzard (St Christopher) Table Tennis Club. For more information, please call Bernie on 07957 215657 or email us at [email protected].
St Christopher Table Tennis Club was set up in the early 1950s by Brian Plenderleith who was the manager of St Christopher’s Garage on Leighton Road in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Now the St Christopher Table Tennis Club is also known as Leighton Buzzard Table Tennis Club and it is based at the Forster Institute: 1 Waterloo Road, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 2NR.
The Club Secretary is Bernie Raffe and the Club Chairman is Biao Wang.

Table tennis can bring people together from all backgrounds, from all walks of life and from all age groups. Apart from developing physical fitness, playing table tennis can also teach vital social skills. Table tennis is one of the few sports in which size, age, gender and cost are irrelevant competitive factors. It is also one of the most accessible and low-cost sports. We believe our Leighton Buzzard Table Tennis Club will strengthen the community and bring the local people together. Table tennis is also one of the most accessible sports. If you can pick up a bat, you can play. It is a game for life, no matter what your age or ability. Throughout the world, people play table tennis for exercise, recreation and social outlet.
