Technology Instructional Coach and Educator in San Antonio, Texas

Hello, I’m Leilani. I’m a Technology Instructional Coach and educator living in San Antonio, Texas. You can view my portfolio with a click on the button above.

I have been working as an educator since 2012. The first seven years of my career were spent as a classroom teacher, where I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Science. During my time in the classroom, I discovered my passion for creating a learning environment that was relevant and engaging to students, and where technology was an integral resource to help students achieve academic goals. In 2018 our campus partnered with Verizon to provided 1:1 devices and internet access to students and faculty. Throughout that first school year, I saw my students transform as collaborators, thinkers, creators, problem solvers, and digital citizens.

As I began developing best practices for technology integration in my lessons I also began to support my collogues in PLCs to further improve their craft as well. By collaborating with my fellow teachers, I realized the wider impact I could have on students through my work with teachers.

Since 2019, I have had the privilege of supporting my colleagues at Whittier full-time as the VILS instructional coach. I have supported teachers in developing student-centered learning environments, reaching audiences beyond the classroom, differentiating instruction, and integrating technology, to name a few. I provide personalized coaching, professional development workshops, and model lessons as teachers and administrators refine their instructional practices to meet the unique needs of their learners.

I am a certified Science teacher and a trained instructional coach. I am a life-long learner, a Google Certified Educator (level 1), a "Master Screen-caster, and a believer in the growth mindset.
