Leila Younes

Hey! I'm Leila. I'm a native Marylander and recently-terminated human service worker. While some may panic at the tought of being unemployed, I've embraced it, as it has given me an opportunity to reexamine my life and find out where my true passions lie.

I have a wealth of experience working with mentally ill and/or chemically dependant young adults. Instead of continuing to pursue this field, however, I have decided to go back to school to pursue a dual bachelor's/master's degree in Occupational Therapy. I am enthusiastic about this and am looking forward to helping individuals in a different regard. My current career goal is to work with children with developmental disabilities.

I'm an avid writer, blogger, and social media user. My current blogging project is Leila's Mixtape. It's merges my passions, storytelling and music, and keeps me active and creative. In this blog, you'll find triumphs and heartbreaks, with the accompanying soundtrack to my life.

When I'm not writing, researching, and exploring, I am playing the role of tattooed, punk rock June Cleaver. I have become a domestic goddess, and I can definitely throw down in the kitchen.
