The Bathroom Remodel of Your Dreams

There are aspects of every house that others are envious of. I know that my sister-in-law has the perfect bathroom setup. It is large, with lots of storage. It has a huge whirlpool tub with a window that overlooks the forest. And there is a separate room with a shower and a toilet. There is a huge closet as well, which I adore! If I were to do a bathroom remodel, this is where I would get a lot of my inspiration from.

Many times bathroom remodel projects will get placed on the back burner because something else pops up. Perhaps the furnace needs to be replaced or a storm went through and the roof is in bad shape. If you are lucky enough to be able to do a bathroom remodel, take the chance! It is well worth it.

The bathroom is not a place for just showering or doing your business.

If you are not quite sure what you want in a bathroom remodel, here are some ideas for you.

1. If anyone in your household has trouble bathing due to being disabled or having a medical condition, you may wish to look into a walk-in shower. These showers are large and easily accessible. You can have ones that do not even have a ledge so those with wheelchairs will easily be able to access them.

2. Only have one bathroom in the house? Consider placing the toilet in its own small room. This way while one person is bathing or getting ready, another person can use the restroom.

3. Think about extras when doing a bathroom remodel. Do you like to watch TV? If so, place a TV above the tub so while you are soaking, you can catch up on your favorite shows. If you prefer music, add a speaker system so you can jam out while getting ready or play some peaceful music while you are soaking.

4. Should you have space, you can consider adding a fireplace to the room as well. Or you can install one on the wall as well.

5. Heated floors make a nice addition to a bathroom, especially if you live where winter is brutally cold.

6. A large linen closet will be perfect for holding extra towels, toilet paper, shampoos and conditioners, and anything else you need. These can easily be organized with baskets so you know exactly where everything is.

7. If you like to have lots of water flowing, consider having multiple shower heads installed. You can have one installed on both sides of the shower, as well as one that is directly above your head.

If you are ready to take control of your bathroom but want more ideas, ask the person doing your bathroom remodel what they have seen.
