I’m a Canadian writer focused on civic literacy and the quiet systems that shape everyday life. Older versions of this profile highlight past roles, but my work today lives firmly in writing, research, and kitchen-table politics.
As an involuntary matriarch, I juggle the beautifully messy needs of four generations while still chasing meaning, mischief, and just enough mayhem to keep things interesting.
These days, I split my time between caregiving and civic writing—exploring how public systems (food policy, civic participation, Canadian governance) reach all the way down to the kitchen table. My goal is clarity and context: helping readers understand the machinery behind everyday life.
My career history spans content development, SME marketing, federal government liaison work, and tech support for small teams and big ideas. I’ve worked behind the scenes in advocacy, public engagement, digital media, and communications strategy—usually wearing five hats at once and still keeping the coffee warm.
A longtime volunteer and occasional board member, I’ve supported initiatives ranging from medical-journal cataloguing to national campaigns for social and economic justice. I’m also a proud Coursera alum, keeping one foot planted in the lifelong-learning lane.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually out in the garden, answering a grandkid’s question, helping a friend troubleshoot a website, or quietly noticing how the world works.
