When he was just 14, Leo began promoting concerts in Northern California. His passion for the music industry soon translated into working with record labels in entertainment marketing and business management, helping to bolster the careers of multi-platinum selling artists signed to Hollywood Records, Sony, V2, Wind-up Records and Warner Bros. Simultaneously, Leo began consulting and touring with numerous festivals across the United States and Canada.
Leo has played an integral role developing and expanding operations at the Coachella Valley Arts & Music Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival. While streamlining the festival’s overall operations, Leo also created and orchestrated Coachella’s newly implemented transportation program, helping the festival to grow from one to two weekends with more than 99,000 in attendance each day over the six-day span.
While with Goldenvoice, Leo assumed the role as Co-Producer and Festival Director of FYF Festival, Los Angeles’ largest contemporary music festival seeing over 45,000 patrons per day in 2014. His vision, management and execution helped to grow FYF 55% in 3 years from under 18,000 patrons per day to 45,000. He also oversaw all operations for Camp Flog Gnaw, a partnership with Odd Future, and Uforia Music Festival, which he Co-Produced with Univision Radio.
In addition to his operational role with Goldenvoice, Leo has created and produced content that has received millions of impressions online.
Over the past 10 years, he and has helped dozens of music festivals throughout the US and Canada grow and become successful. His company, Black Widow Group, currently works with over two-dozen festivals throughout the world along with dozens of other events and tours. Their clients range from Goldenvoice (the producers of Coachella), to TED Talks, Rose Bowl Stadium, Insomniac, Vevo, AEG Live and many more.
Leo also manages a Grammy nominated music producer and serves as start-up technology advisor for companies like Kiip (considered one of Fast Companies top 50 most innovative companies, featured on the cover of Entrepreneur Magazine http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/236472).
