Leolah Brown

Singer, author, actress, inspirational speaker and community advocate, Leolah Brown has been entertaining as early as the tender age of 6. Known as the “poet” in elementary school, she quickly became polished in singing, dancing, writing and mastering both the violin and guitar. Her beauty and enthusiasm led her to become a part of the John Robert Powers modeling agency. With a strong sense of athleticism, she became a successful track runner and acquired many medals and awards throughout her participation in the field.

The sister of R&B singer Bobby Brown, Leolah eventually moved to California for vocal lessons and to become acquainted with the music industry in a professional capacity, becoming a recording artist; recording songs with her brother.

Later, Leolah once again relocated this time to the new mecca of entertainment, Atlanta, Georgia to join Bobby Brown as a background vocalist for his world tour, “Humpin Around.” She also sang background vocals for her sister-in-law, the great Whitney Houston, eventually becoming a personal assistant for Whitney. She also went back to school to major in business administration.

Leolah expanded her entertainment skills by pursuing an acting career and auditioned for the stage play, Mama I’m Your Child,” landing the part of a minister/counselor. She thoroughly enjoyed acting and received a standing ovation for her performance. Her love for writing resurfaced and she began writing stage plays and attended the John Casablanca Acting and Modeling School.

As an author her first book, an autobiography entitled “My Journey to God,” shares her story. Known in her community as a community advocate with a huge passion for giving prompted Leolah to birth her non-profit organization “The Hereafter Foundation,” which focuses on helping the homeless and underprivileged, at-risk youth across the nation.

With a zeal for living the best life entrusted to her, Leolah is also trying her hand at designing a new clothing line, an entertainment company and dabbling at some new inventions. Her entertainment company, Powerhouse Entertainment, is growing and so are the tasks associated with a multitude of projects, but Leolah is confident that she can juggle all the things defined by her purpose.
