Leon Gerber

Leon is a multi-disciplinary mining law and policy specialist, and a qualified Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.

At present, he is a Senior Lecturer in Extractive Industry Law at the University of Pretoria (South Africa). Previously the Rio Tinto Research Fellow in the Mining Group of the CEPMLP (Scotland), he pursues research and teaching on the legal and policy aspects regarding the social and environmental impacts of the extractive sectors.

He has collaborated on a number of corporate and academic research projects, such as POLINARES, a European Commission 7th Framework Programme Project.
