The area of research my practice-led PhD with the University of Bedfordshire focuses on is the social and cultural history of student-led, community radio stations in three super-diverse places (Birmingham, Leicester, and Luton), through the curation of a life-story archive: 'Analogue/Analog Memories of Digital Transformation: Oral History Transmissions of Student Radio Management Participation'.

I came to academia as an oral historian, features journalist and community and public radio practitioner, having worked in online and print media, including BBC Radio 2 and 4 as a producer in magazine format programmes and as an operations and volunteer manager and producer/presenter in community radio.

Alongside this, I am the Creative Director and Cultural Historian of Inkslingers Media, a multi-award-winning audio production company creating radio programmes, audio documentaries, and oral history collections from community heritage stories, to reimagine our interaction with history.

My strengths are developing community heritage projects that intersect, participatory methods and co-production processes, focusing on transforming and creating career options. With my expertise in collaborative and interdisciplinary models, I advocate for outcomes focused on capacity building.
