Leon Cooney

A professional boxer with a successful amateur career, Leon Cooney began his boxing career during school, training at his local gym, West Wirral ABC. As an amateur with VIP Boxing, Leon Cooney became a national champion, five-time regional champion, and gold medalist for England in the Three Nations. As a professional, he has won five out of five fights.

Mr. Cooney successfully transitioned from amateur to professional boxing. Many find the transition financially challenging and must cover the costs of training, medical care, travel, and equipment. As a professional boxer, Mr. Cooney pays special attention to his health, diet, and fitness. He must maintain a specific weight before each fight, remain on a strict diet and training program, and alternate intense training with a recovery process made of low-intensity exercise.

In his spare time, Mr. Cooney engages in outdoor activities like wild swimming and wild camping. Wild swimming benefits his recovery, as cold-water exposure helps his muscles relax. Furthermore, he enjoys wild camping with his family, often heading to remote areas in the English countryside to spend time with family.
