Leonilde Varela

MARIA LEONILDE R. VARELA received her Ph.D. degree on Industrial Engineering and Management of the University of Minho, in 2007. Presently she is Assistant Professor at the Department of Production and Systems in University of Minho, Portugal. Her main interests regarding teaching and research are about Production Planning and Control and Optimization and in Collaborative Networks, and Virtual and Distributed Enterprises, and on Decision Systems and Web Applications, Technologies, and Services for supporting Engineering and Production Management. Recently she integrated the Project PTDC/EME-GIN/102143/2008, “Ubiquitous oriented embedded systems for globally distributed factories of manufacturing enterprises”, financed by The Foundation for Science and Technology – FCT, in the context of the Distributed and Virtual Manufacturing Systems and Enterprises (DVMSE) group of the Department of Production and Systems, at University of Minho where she is an integrated member.
