Leon Stasch (born 2009 in Stuttgart, Germany) is a German-American high school student and multi-sport athlete based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He currently attends Tuscaloosa Academy, where he plays soccer and maintains strong academic performance.
Early Life and Background
Leon Stasch was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and spent his early childhood there before moving to the United States. He comes from a diverse family background: his mother was born in Russia, and his grandmother is Russian. Because of this, Leon speaks Russian in addition to German and English.
He has a brother in Germany on his father’s side, and a sister who lives with him in Alabama on his mother’s side.
Education
Stasch is a student at Tuscaloosa Academy, where he maintains an academic average of approximately 90% (A grade equivalent). He is trilingual in German, English, and Russian.
Athletic Career
Leon began playing soccer between the ages of 7 and 11 before switching to American football. From 2020 to 2024, he played football in Germany, developing his skills across several seasons.
In 2024, after moving to Alabama, he joined the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights football team, playing for one season and helping the team reach the Alabama 2A state championship.
In 2025, Stasch returned to soccer and joined the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights soccer team, where he continues to compete at the high school level.
