I'm an independent primary consultant, dedicated to supporting educational establishments with the development of the Computing curriculum. I am extremely interested in e-safety and love all kinds of new technologies.
Last year we worked in many Wigan schools on a number of computing and e-safety support areas. These included in-school teaching support in KS1 and KS2 classes, whole school computing development with staff insets and subject development, subject leadership training and lots of parent e-safety workshops. I also held our second annual Computing Awards event where 15 primary schools competed for the winning prize in front of the Mayor of Wigan.
Our current work in schools is very exciting. We have a new and ambitious e-safety project, PRISM, where pupils learn to become mentors and leaders, ultimately teaching their peers about online safety and our new Computing Maker Days are stirring up a storm.
You can read about these and more on our website www.smithillsict.com
We are also continuing to teach computing in schools and are supporting a local School Direct with their ITT programme.
