Counsel to numerous high-profile entities, she has represented the restaurants Roadhouse Grill and Piccadilly Cafeteria in their respective Chapter 11 proceedings. Leslie Gern Cloyd also served as Debtors Counsel on the highly publicized Levitt and Sons bankruptcy filings and as counsel to the Creditors Committee for the Chapter 11 filing of gambling ship ITC Vegas.

A recognized expert in Chapter 11 and other restructuring activities, Leslie Cloyd has been granted the highest rating of AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and has ranked among Florida's Leading Lawyers for bankruptcy since 1996. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, she earned standing in Chambers' list of America's Leading Bankruptcy Lawyers. A leader among her peers, Leslie Cloyd served as Vice Chair for the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation's Florida network and serves with the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida (BBASDFL) as the Chair for Pro Bono Services in Broward County. She also worked for three years on the BBASDFL's Board of Directors and as Vice Chair of the Local Rules Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida.

Leslie Gern Cloyd holds a Juris Doctor from the Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. The recipient of American Jurisprudence Awards in bankruptcy, sales, and real estate finance, she graduated fourth among her classmates. She has earned admission to argue before the U.S. Court of Appeals' Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the Florida state courts. Her career includes service as an Associate Attorney to Boca Raton firm Furr & Cohen and as a named partner at the West Palm Beach firm Bakst Cloyd & Bakst. She now combines a successful bankruptcy practice.
