The main Aggie Ring was thrown in 1889. It was strong gold with the letters "AMC" entwined, for Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, alongside four precious stones, as per Texas A&M: The First 25 Years by Lyman Hardeman. The early outlines can be seen in the ring accumulations at the Clayton W. Williams Jr. Graduated class Center.
