Leslie Mccarty

I am a documentary film maker and aspiring cinematographer. I have started my journey as a production assistant and an extra for “Stuck: The Web Series” out of Omaha and the feature film “A Present for the Future” out of Des Moines. I continued on to be a production assistant, assistant coordinator, and grip for a Mercedes video brochure in the San Francisco Bay area. I also worked on the New York City based web series “Constance Cooks” as a 2nd AC.

I am interested in documentaries in mental health, addiction and recovery, prison inmates especially ones on death row, some nature, and other miscellaneous subjects.

I am currently working on two projects. One is a feature length documentary of a specific Iowa based murderer. The second is a series on inmates who murder. My aim in my film making career is to bring knowledge and understanding to even the most unfortunate situations.
