Leslie Silton
Hello,
I am Leslie Silton and I am a writer. (Don't let the camera fool you -- I took this self-portrait. Yeah, it's a little bit fuzzy - that's not your bad eyesight - and I still like the photograph anyway.)
Last year my novel, The Gift Horse, was published. Now I want to invite everyone to get a copy of my book and read the adventures of Maggie Malone, Artist.
You will find that I have my own ideas about science fiction storytelling, which, from everything I have read, is different from most other sci-fi writers. My stories usually take place in the present, for one thing. And while there is 'specultive science' included, my stories and characters are, I think, closer to real people.
Of course, any story of mine has the element of the unusual; I just think that we, as writers of speculative fiction, can write better stories when the reader can find a link between their own current lives and what's coming down the pike.
A little less of the 'the grays', invading minds, life after World War III or IV, if you please. Less about desolation and Big Brother and everyone on drugs, freakiness, etc.
How about a world we can envision, that would be worth living in; characters as people we wouldn't be afraid to meet?
I invite everyone to go to my publisher's website (www.AbsolutelyAmazingeBooks.
com) or www.Amazon.com and check out my novel, 'The Gift Horse'. I wrote it for you. And after you read it, write a review and say whatever you think.
Best regards,
Leslie Silton
