Les Schlais and his business partner John Kim founded Syncis to provide middle-income families and individuals get the same access to a wide range of financial products and services that higher net worth clients get from large financial institutions. Schlais and Kim were fed up with large companies forgetting about clients with more modest needs, so they formed their own company that would fill the void.

As the co-founder of a financial services marketing organization, Les Schlais has learned much about insurance over the years. Insurance is not the modern concept that some may believe it to be. In fact, history shows that in one form or another, insurance as a premise has existed, even in non-monetary (barter and trade) economies.
