Courtney Lester

“I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” Courtney Lester lives by this verse daily. In 2013, she graduated from Person High School in Roxboro, NC. She currently resides in Durham, NC where she attends North Carolina Central University. She is majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. In the fall of 2014, she will be classified as a sophomore.
Out of six siblings, Courtney is the first to attend a university. In high school, she maintained a 3.4 GPA and received a plaque for being a Person County Scholar. Hard work, dedication, family, friends, and God have gotten her to where she is now. Being a single parent, she is attending college to better her future for her and her child. It gets tough for Courtney but she remembers the bible verse and finds that God will never leave her side nor let her down.
Her current goals in life are to graduate in three years from NCCU, become an elementary teacher, give her child the best life she can have and become closer to God. She is determined to succeed and make her family proud, but most importantly herself!
