Greetings! My name is Modikeng Lethabo Shalang, and I am a dedicated third-year student at the University of Johannesburg, with a strong ambition to pursue postgraduate studies in Languages. I currently reside in Auckland Park, Johannesburg. I am passionate about teaching, exploring new places, and spending meaningful time with my family and loved ones. As a proud Pedi woman, I honour and celebrate my cultural heritage by wearing traditional attire and participating in cultural ceremonies back in Limpopo.

Teaching is more than a profession to me — it is a calling. I believe I have been entrusted with the purpose of shaping young lives, and that is exactly what I strive to do every day. Outside the classroom, I enjoy staying active through netball, soccer, and swimming, and I hope to participate in school sports teams whenever possible. I am also actively involved in community engagement, as giving back and making a positive difference in someone’s life each day brings me immense fulfillment.

As an aspiring advocate of change, I am dedicated to enhancing and changing the lives of young children through education. This will be done by not only transmitting knowledge but also empowering and changing the community by setting the youth as tools for the coming years. I aim to practice inclusivity in the diverse world of schools by creating an environment where learners feel safe and listened to. Come with me as we walk together in this journey to shaping bright futures.
