Since joining the not-for-profit sector in 2007, Michael D. Levitt has led new start-up organizations, and reorganization of organizations seeking expert growth leadership. In the past 4 years, team performance and program reviews have saved over $250,000, without staff reductions or increases. Workflow process improvements between departments have increased productivity and client deliverables without increasing costs.
Mr. Levitt brings to the task his experience from a 25-year career in finance and information technology. Prior to his Director of Finance & Corporate Services role, he served as Executive Director for a start-up Ontario-based Family Health Team. Through community engagement, fund raising, and governmental cooperation, over 5,000 patients now have a primary care physician. This reduces wait times at Ontario's emergency rooms, by increasing access to primary care, when and where the patient lives.
Prior to that assignment, Mr. Levitt served as Controller for a growing waste software company. During that time, the organization increased annual revenues tenfold, through stellar customer service and a product that was built by industry experts.
Prior to the Controller position, Mr. Levitt served as one of the first employees of comScore, a publicly traded Internet market research company, where he managed the internal support department and was instrumental in deploying data servers across North America. comScore has annual revenues exceeding $100 million.
A Dual Canadian and American citizen born in Michigan, Mr. Levitt studied accounting and business management at Walsh College. In 2010, he became a certified crisis intervention trainer, from the Canadian Training Institute.
