My name is Levi Waters-Garraway, and I am a fourth-year Concurrent Education student at Laurentian University. I am from a small town called Penetanguishene, which is located in southern Georgian Bay, where the only fun things to do are go fishing or going to see a movie. I come from a household including my parents, one brother, two sisters, a dog, and a cat, so as one can tell, it gets pretty busy at home. Some of the activities I enjoy during my spare time include playing basketball, playing videogames, or hanging out with my friends and family. Growing up, I played on four different basketball teams throughout the year, ranging from high school basketball to playing in the Ontario league. Basketball took up a large part of my life during my high school years, teaching me new basketball skills, as well as life skills that I still practice today.

One of the reasons that becoming a teacher is appropriate for me is because I care about people and want to see the next generation of children be better than this one. I see how some of my sisters’ teachers act and treat students in their classes, and it shows how I can help students get a better education. Another reason I want to be a teacher is that I want to be able to make a difference in the world. Whether it is helping a child learn how to read or be able to help them with a bad situation at home. I feel like the world needs better teachers, and I want to be one of those teachers.
