I'm an Ornamental Plant Breeder, Assistant Professor, and Director of the Gary W, Knox Gardens of the Big Bend at the University of Florida, Department of Environmental Horticulture.

My passion: Ornamental plants! Plant Breeding; Native Plants; Woody Ornamentals; Cut Flowers; Plants in the Landscape and Urban Areas; Teaching and never stop Learning!

Alma mater:

University of Georgia, Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics & Genomics: PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics and Genomics under the direction of Dr. Carol Robacker. My research focused on self-incompatibility systems, ploidy levels, embryo rescue, and inheritance of the gold-leaf trait in the Abelia genus.

Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile: Bc Sc in Plant Sciences (Mayor in Horticulture) and Minor in Asia Studies. My undergraduate research - under the direction of Dr. Eduardo Olate - focused in the development of new Alstroemeria cultivars for cut flower and the landscape.
