I'm a geek when it comes to the English language, who is completely fascinated with the way we use words to express ourselves and to tell our stories. This is not to say that I am not enthusiastic and geeky about a multitude of other things, however, because I am. I am enthusiastic and passionate about a wide variety of things, ranging from comics, to sci-fi, video games, food, fitness, beauty, fashion, crafts, and, of course, language and psychology.
I graduated from Grant MacEwan University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Applied Communications in Professional Writing. I combine communication theory with mad writing skills to create a solid foundation in both writing and editing. During my time at Grant MacEwan I studied strategic communication, researching, planning and delivering key messages, campaigns, and speeches, targeted towards moving the audience to action. I planned and delivered media packages, and I developed an understanding of mass communication needs and trends. I also have a solid focus on the editing and publishing spectrum, working towards improving communications by checking for correctness, conciceness, and clarity and developed an understanding of the publishing process.
I have been freelance editing for almost six years, and to date have edited the equivelant of two novels in an ongoing process, and have begun to branch into poetry editing as well. My first screenplay is in the pre-production phase, with an estimated completion date of Summer 2013. My second screenplay has entered the first draft phase as of April 1st, 2012 and is expected to be completed by April 30th, where it can then move on to the editing process.
I have started to maintain a beauty blog where I freely ramble on about anything and everything beauty related. And at some point I hope to have my writing and pop culture blogs up and running once again.
