I am LAN Lianchao, Cleo, my old friends like to call me a catchy nickname Chocoloco (maybe since sometimes I'm a little bit crazy).

I ’m currently reporting for Agency France-Presse (AFP) from Shanghai on the topics of China’s economy, lifestyle, gender and anything else that takes my fancy.

Formerly a Chinese non-fictional story writer with strong interests in urban&rural, young generations, I’m personally fascinated with geopolitics and Latin America region.

I hail from Sichuan Province and spent years studying in Beijing and Hong Kong.
