Owner in Portland, Oregon
You could say that carpentry runs in my blood. Both my Father and Grandfather were carpenters and even my Great-Great Grandfather was a cabinetmaker back in Sweden.
At a young age I learned carpentry skills from my Dad in his workshop. A saying I'm fond of is my Dad saying “A good carpenter is not good because he doesn’t make mistakes. What makes a carpenter “good” is his ability to fix his mistakes!”
I lost my Father to cancer at age 12 after which I moved to the Milwaukie area and attended Rex Putnam High School. It was there that I and co-owner of our business, Carl became close friends.
After High School, I attended Lewis & Clark College where my favorite subjects were American History, Japanese and Design.
After college I took a carpentry position at a local remodeling company and learned many phases of construction. After several years, I got a General Contractor’s License and started my own remodeling company.
In 1998 Carl came to me with the idea of starting a new business together. Over the past 17 years we have built the company into the business it is today.
On a personal note, I have a wife, Aaryn and two daughters, Grace and Liberty. Our family is active in the community and church and thank God for His faithfulness and provision.
