Duey Meza was born into a musical family in North Bergen, NJ on December 29th, 1992. His father is an established performer and musician, and his grandfather, Lisandro Meza, is a legendary Colombian artist with a very successful career of more than a half century in the music industry. With such deep musical roots, it was inevitable that Duey Meza would follow in his family’s musical footsteps. He started writing his own music at 12, and in only a few short years has established himself as a powerful Singer, provocative Song Writer (composes all of his songs) and skilled Musician (self taught on the accordion) with a promising career. His music is a mixture of Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, Club and traditional Colombian with a fresh and unique sound that has been described as “On Fire!”
Duey Meza has worked with ex-members of Proyecto Uno on a song called “Llego la Navidad” and has shared the stage with such major artists as Julio Voltio, Lisandro Meza, Tito Rojas, Fulanito, Alex Mattos, DJ Lobo, DJ Alex Sensation, Adalberto Santiago, Jorge Meza, Juliet Herrera, Diamond Boy, Jorge Celedon, Peter Manjares, Mariano Civico, Marlon Moreno (El Capo), and many more. He has also worked on the mayoral campaigns of Brian Stack in Union City, NJ and Felix Rocket in West New York, NJ.
His first public performance was in Union City, NJ and by his third performance he appeared in front of 15,000 people and shared the stage with Tito Rojas, the famous Salsa Artist. He has received numerous Awards and recognition for his work, and has performed in Puerto Rico, Colombia, Spain, and the U.S. (New York City, Atlanta, Miami, as well as in New Jersey and Pennsylvania). Major venues at which he has appeared include Lincoln Center, La Boom and Copacabana (NYC), and Prudential Center (NJ). He has been invited to such prestigious music industry events as Premios Mi Gente in Colombia and Premios Urbanos in New York City, along with many music festivals red carpet events.
