Lilia Newman has been working as a speech-language pathologist (SLP) for over fifteen years. She was a licensed speech-language pathologist in her native Brazil for about 5 years when she moved to New York City. In NY she obtained an MS in speech and language pathology in 2003 and her certification of clinical competence is accredited by ASHA. She also obtained bilingual extension certifications in Spanish and Portuguese.
In the last years, Lilia Newman started focusing her work as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. After working a few years for the New York City public and private pre-schools as well as providing early intervention home care services through a few NYC agencies she decided to open her own office.
Presently, Lilia Newman provides speech-language evaluations and therapy to several communication disorders/delays such as: Specific language impairment, Receptive and expressive language delays, Autism/Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Phonological disorders, Articulation problems, Dysfluency, Dysartria, Apraxia of Speech, Feeding Disorders, Oral-motor deficits, Voice disorders among others.
