Lillis Werder

Washington DC Metropolitan Area, Northern Virginia

A native of Fort Scott, Kansas, Lillis Werder attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC graduating from th Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service majoring in International Politics with a fluency in the Spanish language. Since college, Lillis has remained in the DC area working in various fields including information technology and finance. Now pursuing her creative goal, she owns her own business, Lillis Photography and exhibits her work in several art galleries and juried art shows in the DC area. Lillis is the primary photographer for a nonprofit organization called American Friends of the Czech Republic, and covers events at embassies and at gala dinners, often photographing world leaders. Lillis travels frequently to foreign locations for images which are sold worldwide through istockphoto.com. She also provides photography of architectural interiors fr realtors in Virginia for advertising purposes. Lillis sells her art year-round at the Art League in the Torpedo Factory of Old Town Alexandria, VA and in special exhibits with the F11 Womens Photography Collective, in historic homes and in specialty shops. Lillis' images have been featured on web sites such as the National Geographic, RedBook Magazine, The Lancet, the Washington Post, Manassas Journal Messenger, Elan Magazine, the AFoCR Quarterly Newsletter and on covers of Yellow Pages books throughout Virginia. She has self published over 20 photography books and her images are for sale as prints on imagekind.com, and fineartamerica.com.
