Lims
Liims, Born March 26, Jay Standback aka Lims(Lord is my Savior) was born and raised in the tough neighborhood of Arlington Heights Projects. After 6 years in Arlington Heights Projects, my mom decided to move to Wilkinsburg where I attend Kelly Elementary School and Wilkinsburg Middle School, where at a young, I was just trying to find my identity. During this time I loved the hip hop game and was a young youth with no direction in my life from a young man's perspective. My mother raised me well, but the truth was she had to work two or three jobs to support us. I come from a single parent home, so I know what it is like to see a struggling mom without the support of a father. During my high school years I attended Westinghouse High school in Homewood. At the age of 14 I was exposed to the street life in depth by just attending school everyday. At first hand I saw drugs, alcohol abuse, sex, violence, and racism. Within the African American community, material items were taking over human life, with a culture full of religion, but not acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 14. I were baptized at The Living Word Church in Penn Hills led by Pastor Kirkland. This started a slow change in my life. I started going to church, then actually going to youth on Fridays, and bible study to actually know more about the Lord. My conversion in my life was when I saw my life flash before my eyes when my peers were getting killed on a daily basis. I attended the Edinboro University for my bachelors degree in Communication, with a focus in Marketing and Public Relations. I fell in love with music at the dinner table, when I would constantly rap and make beats on the table .My older sister used to always tell me to quit but it was something I loved and have a passion for. I'm a down to earth guy, but I am living for My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the King. In Christ Lims
