One of the nation's leading human resources executives, Lina George has dedicated her career to excellence in organizational strategy. Committed to achieving exceptional business results and optimizing employee performance in a range of sectors, George is currently based in Atlanta, where she serves as Vice President of Human Resources in the East Business Unit of Walmart US. Recognized for professionalism and business acumen, she is the recipient of the 2009 Walmart Leadership Award.

Prior to accepting her current position in 2008, George served as the Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources for such companies as AT&T subsidiary Sterling Commerce, Maxtor Inc., NTT/ Verio (the world's largest web hosting company) and AT&T Broadband (formerly Tele-Communications, Inc. -- the world's largest cable company). Lina George has particularly strong expertise in mergers and acquisitions having been a part of the executive teams in charge of integrating the $7 billion acquisition of Verio by NTT Communications of Japan and the $48 billion acquisition of Tele-Communications Inc. by AT&T. Earlier in her career, Lina George was a practicing attorney with the law firm of White & Steele and Great West Life Assurance Company. She specialized in employment litigation and counseling corporate clients on human resources matters and employee benefits.

Lina George holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business. More recently, George participated in advanced training at the Anderson School of Management at UCLA and received a Director's Education Certificate. Lina George currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
