A lifelong communicator, I’m pretty sure I came out of the womb talking. But with no siblings to chat and play with, I learned to express myself in writing. By the fifth grade, I was editor of the class newsletter—a role I served again for my college newspaper.

Mine has been a diverse 35-year journey through jobs, career, entrepreneurial ventures, and the various passions that feed my mind and creative spirit. I've been the editor-in-chief of a garden-design magazine, a freelance business writer and editor, and an instructor at George Washington University. I also cofounded the former Words at Work, Inc., a marketing communications firm serving small businesses and corporations in northern Virginia.

Today, I live along the shores of North Carolina's Outer Banks and run a new company, Web Designs OBX. It’s a natural evolution that feeds my love of design and passion for writing. My goal—the company’s goal—is to fill a gap in the world of website design, where written content often seems to be an afterthought. My mission is to do that by setting a higher standard for website content.
