I've been asking questions all my life: Why? How? When? Who? What? Where?
The tenacity to get the answers has helped me in my practice as an ophthalmologist and growth in Christian faith. I've been blessed to have 30 years' experience caring for patients from a wide range of backgrounds and faiths. All are respected. All are loved.
Between practicing medicine and nurturing two children into adulthood, I've spent years in ministry preparation (part-time study at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Rhema Ministry at Kainos Comminity Church) and Christian service; preached my trial sermon in 2002, led youth and adult Bible studies, established women's ministries at several churches, and guided youth in the Christian faith. I'm thankful for the leadership, prayers and guidance of Pastors Joe Palmore and Yolande Herron-Palmore. Because they believed and trusted God, THE WAY: A Youth Confirmation Workshop Series , (copy written in 2002 and self- published) has graduated over 150 youth.
During a workshop, a youth was caught doing other than he/she should and I asked the WWJD question. Without batting an eye, he said, "I know what Jesus would do, but I'm not Jesus." What a growth opportunity! I prayed for a deeper question.
John 15:8 says "By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be my disciples." NKJV
