My camera is a wonderful teacher. It shares lessons about contrast, letting go, getting out of my comfort zone and staying in the now. When I am shooting pictures, I am fully aware, focused and present.
Through the magic of photography I attempt to capture the light and freeze the moment. I am keenly aware that everything in life is available for a limited time only. The toddler on her big wheel in my driveway today will be replaced by a young woman driving her first car tomorrow. The sunlight filtering through the trees on a summer morning shifts and changes and each day I'm greeted by completely different trees. My camera notices everything and allows me to grab those precious moments and freeze the elusive now.
My camera is still teaching, I'm still learning and my pictures are far from perfect. I hope you enjoy the lessons I learn through the lens of my camera as I share them with you.
